Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks its own cells resulting in damage to the thyroid gland which makes it underactive. Its Symptoms of hypothyroidism are unexplainable weight gain, cold intolerance, hair loss, constipation, fatigue and dry skin, irregular periods. Hashimoto’s diagnosis is confirmed with positive antibodies against thyroid peroxidase (TPO antibodies).
